Ardvreck Castle is a personal favourite of mine. Positioned just off the A387, the remains of the castle are nestled along the bank of Loch Assynt. You can walk right up to the structure and the remnants of Calda House, a 5-minute walk away. The first time I visited, I must have spent over 2 hours here simply taking the view in.
